Barrow 1-0 Guiseley- Match Report

Hunter shoots down Guiseley

Garry Hunter was Barrow's last-gasp hero, netting two minutes into injury time as they beat fellow non-league outfit Guiseley at the second time of asking to reach the FA Cup second round.

Hunter crashed home the only goal of the game - a wonder-strike from 20 yards - in the dying moments as the Bluebirds booked themselves a second-round clash at home to Macclesfield.

However it could have all been different had Guiseley substitute Nicky Boshell found the net instead of the bar from six yards as the clocked edged into added time.

In a first half of very few chances, Guiseley had keeper Steve Drench to thank for a fine early save from Richie Baker, but the visitors had chances of their own.

James Walshaw saw an effort tipped over by Barrow goalkeeper Danny Hurst, while Wayne Brooksby, who scored in the 2-2 first-round draw, headed tamely into the arms of Hurst.

Barrow came out with more tempo to their play after the break but it was the Lions who came closest when Danny Ellis headed a free-kick from Danny Boshell narrowly wide.

Walshaw then fired wide from 12 yards after a long clearance from Drench midway through the second half before the late drama.
