Blue Square Bet Premier side Barrow have signed left-back Andrew Nicholas on a two-year deal with defender Andrew Milne handed a short-term contract.Nicholas, 26, featured in Saturday's 2-1 friendly win against Bolton, supplying the pass for Jason Walker's second-half winner.
Milne, 19, also impressed on trial at Holker Street, having left Leeds at the end of last season.
Both players are available for Barrow's league opener at Histon on Saturday.
The Bluebirds had been seeking cover at left-back following the departures of Paul Edwards and Gareth Jelleyman at the end of the previous campaign.
The two signings take Barrow's permanent summer arrivals to six, with defender Matthew Haywood, midfielders Ciaran Donnelly and Marc Goodfellow, and striker Danny Forrest also joining the squad.
Meanwhile Barrow have also secured the services of goalkeeper Alan Martin on a six-month loan from Leeds United, and striker Andy Cook from Carlisle United ahead of the new season.
BBC Radio Cumbria are to broadcast a Barrow AFC season preview special on Friday, 13 August from 1800 BST, with contributions from joint-boss Dave Bayliss, chairman Brian Keen and captain Paul Jones.
